Redneck

In the 90s, here in Nashville, if you wanted to “make it” you had to not only be a musician, you had to write your own music. Good music. And it had to be what the Nashville heads considered to be “good.” I was desperately trying to get good at my writing, but I just didn’t have the right connections at the time and wasn’t quite sure where to begin. One day, while blow drying my hair, a song literally downloaded into my brain. I ran to grab something to write on, and that was how Redneck was born. In the coming years, when I would play at churches, or groups, they would always ask for this song. Even today, people love it. And it makes my heart smile. I didn’t write it. It wrote itself. Or, it was “given” to me. Those things happen from time to time for folks. It happened to me. And for that I am ever grateful. It has brought joy to a lot of listeners, so I know it will bring a smile to your face as well. Happy listening!
